Zhicheng Jing joined the Department as an Assistant Professor this month. Dr. Jing holds a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Yale University, and previously worked as postdoctoral scholar at the Center for Advanced Radiation Sources at the University of Chicago. His research combines mineral physics techniques and theoretical modeling to explore the physical and chemical properties of Earth and planetary materials under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. He then applies these material properties to understand the structure, dynamics and evolution of the Earth and other planets.
