The Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Case Western Reserve University seeks candidates for two one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor positions for the academic year starting August 20, 2018. We seek candidates with a broad background in the geosciences who will contribute to teaching and research in the department. The two positions will address departmental teaching needs including an upper level sedimentology and stratigraphy course, and one or more courses in global environmental problems, hydrogeology, and structural geology/geodynamics. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to teach an introductory course or an elective course in their specialty. The expected course load for each position is three courses per year. Both positions require completion of the PhD degree by August 1, 2018 and a record of research and teaching commensurate with rank.
