A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at CWRU to study the high-pressure thermodynamic properties of metallic systems that are relevant to planetary cores.

The successful candidate will work with Prof. James A. Van Orman and Prof. Steven A. Hauck, II on a multi-anvil based experimental program focused on phase equilibria in multi-component iron alloy systems, and on application of the results to models of planetary core evolution. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD at the time of appointment. The position is available immediately, for an initial term of one year with the possibility of renewal for two additional years.
