Welcome Nicholas Sutfin, Visiting Assistant Professor

Dr. Nicholas Sutfin joined the EEPS Department in Fall 2018 as Visiting Assistant Professor.

Nick conducted a postdoctoral research position in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is a watershed hydrologist and geomorphologist with a PhD in Earth Sciences from Colorado State University. Nick is interested in the influence of climate, humans, and geology on physical and biological processes occurring at the Earth’s surface. His research focuses on the movement of sediment, water, and carbon in the critical zone, which is defined as the zone between the top of trees to the bottom of groundwater. Nick is teaching EEPS 321/421 Hydrogeology in the fall of 2018.
