Professor Steven A. Hauck, II became the Chair of the Department on July 1, 2019.  His research focuses on understanding the evolution of planetary interiors.  Since joining EEPS in 2003 he has served in a variety of roles including academic advisor for EEPS undergraduate majors, Chair of the Faculty Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology, Participating Scientist on NASA’s MESSENGER mission to Mercury, and Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets.
